Phnom Penh: Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Manet has extended heartfelt condolences to Japan following the devastating earthquake that occurred on New Year's Day. The calamity resulted in considerable loss of life and widespread damage to properties and infrastructure.

In a moving letter to Kahida Fumio, the Prime Minister of Japan, Prime Minister Manet expressed Cambodia's deep sorrow over the tragedy. "We are extremely saddened to learn of the numerous casualties and extensive damage," he stated, conveying the sympathies of the Royal Government and the Cambodian people.

The letter underscored a sense of solidarity and sympathy, particularly for those directly affected by the disaster. Prime Minister Manet expressed wishes for a swift recovery for the injured and reaffirmed Cambodia's support for Japan during this challenging period.
